Everybody is getting concerned about key counts Johan!!!!

I know you guys are busy BUT I visit a lot of diesel sites and I know at least a few others here do to. Everybody seems to like their Predators but there is a lot of concern about how easy it is for the dealer to tell that you had a downloader on your truck even though you have pulled the Predator off. No, they can't say for sure that it was the Predator but if they see that you have 5 key counts and 12000 miles then they know you were running a downloader unless you've had a recent reflash but they can easily check that in their database. There are a lot of guys dumping their Predators all of a sudden due to these concerns and I must say that as much as I like mine I'm contemplating this too. There are plenty of plug-in fueling boxes that are not so easily traceable that can make almost as much power.
So, I just want you guys to know that there is a lot of negative "press" amongst the diesel boards right now because of this. Please, Please, Please try to figure out how to store this info when we change tunes so we can all breathe easier.........
There are a couple more things that get wiped out like run time and fuel consumption too. SmokinDodge's post tells you how they figured he was running a downloader.....

I have to totally agree here, although it does not affect me because I'm my own warranty and nobody else touches my truck, but you have a great product in the predator and for the price it can't be beat but the smarty that does not reset key cycles is becoming very very popular. If the smarty guys can figure out how to not reset the key cycles I have no doubt in my mind that you guys can do it. GIT R DONE

I agree as well. Dodgezilla is correct about the news spreading about the Predator being detectable amongst the diesel forums. People are starting to shy away from the predator because of this. Please help!

I would really, really like to be able to read codes too. The 7131 will clear them but not read them.

my 7131 will read codes sometimes, but will always clear them.

i have gone back to my quadzilla for all the above reaqsons plus the lack of support now that johan is working on the hemi. looks like they released a product not ready for the customer yet. not a very good policy, they have many issues to resolve and should change the advertising on their web pages so no one else gets duped into buying this product.

Yeah i pulled mine also, just not worth the headache. hey johan how about a refund for the programmer seeing how it is we havent gotten we we paid over and what is advertised all over the internet. No shift on the fly, no trial, wont read codes, it's traceable, its just not what was paid for. I would be worried that the wrong people will get mad for not getting what was paid for or advertised and start a class action law suit against your company. I think alot more testing should have been done before it was released and now that it is out it is not worth having. I myslef pull a trailer and everytime i wont to switch programms its a 10 minute or deal, sorry but im going back to my edge or the bully dog and yes johan you can tell me that if i want to get spanked a preadator then change, well i might get spanked but i will get what i paid for.....maybe someday the programmer will be where it should and i will try again but for now its off........

this is very unfortunate, the pred works flawlessly on the 03-05s

.and we got more than advertised{high hp custom tunes}

was the trial and shift on the fly features a advertised feature?i thought they were somthing that came later as a custom feature like our puff tunes and such.has anyone with a smarty actually gone in for waranty work and passed?ive read that no tuner is 100% undetectable if they look hard enough.ur right though i have seen many preds for sale in the calssifieds on the dtr.maybe ill grab one while thier cheap incase i upgrade to an 06

I LOVE the way this thing makes my truck run but these features sure would be nice. I don't know if I can switch to something else now but I would sure love the peace of mind knowing that if I switch tunes those keycounts would get stored, just in case......
The shift on the fly and trial tunes were something that just came out recently and I'm not sure if they were advertised. Most of the other stuff advertised does not work for the 7131s.

Have to agree guys! I have the power puck and was ready to pull the trigger on the predator. However I REALLY want shift on the fly and code reader.
The product IS advertised as having such, and the articles in variious mags state the same.
I know that you are taking a chance with warranty coverage, but again the advertisments state "cannot be detected" NOT "can't be proven".
None of us have the money to fight D/C lawyers if thats what it will come to.
I am going to sit back now and wait for some responses from Diablo before I make my decision.
