OK? to use U7191 before I install new exhaust?

Post by tas »

I recently bought a 2005 GTO with manual 6 speed tranny. I just received a Diablo Sport U7191. This unit was previously owned, but I was told that the tune was returned as it was when new.

I have ordered a set of Kook's 1 3/4" LT headers and catted mid pipes and a Borla cat back exhaust.

My question is, Should I wait to use the Predator until I have installed the new exhaust? Or go ahead and use the Predator now? And if so, what to do latter?

Thanks, Tom

Just noticed you have longtubes....email me a copy of the stock tune and I'll have a tune made for you for the longtubes.

Thanks

Mike, sorry for the confusion. But I have not yet received the new exhaust, the system is currently on order. The headers will be here on Friday and the cat back is on B/O for about three weeks. So I probably will not touch any of the exhaust until I have it all.

With this information, should I hold off on using the Predator until the exhaust is installed? Or go ahead and use the Predator, then make tune changes once exh is done?

Any you mentioned emailing you a copy of the stock tune.... you lost me there!

Installing the Predator tune now then install the exhaust later is fine.

I too have an 05 GTO and from stock I started with the Predator tune, a few months later added same exhaust items as you and the car worked fine. Even going to a CMR tuner and modifying the Predator tune for the exhaust, the car only picked up 4whp with the modified tune (exhaust netted 17whp and then 4whp for some adjustments to the tune for a total of 21whp). The Predator 91 tune is almost dead on so you shouldnt have any issues.

Also be sure to update the Predator with the new revision 8r08.
