U7194

Post by Whiterock1 »

Ok, walk me thru this, please. I download the new rev for the C6, U7194, via your software to the Predator.
Question 1: does this now show as the Predator hp tune?
#2: do I have to reload the stock tune in my Vette before loading the new tune, or do I load the new tune in an it modifies the existing Predator tune in the car?
#3: I want to put the 93 octane tune in. We only get 91 octane gas here, because of the elevation. Thus, I would think the 93 octane tune, again with 7000' elevation, would work fine. Correct?
#4 Is the only difference the 93 octane tune which advances timing, or is the AFR leaned a bit more also?

I am excited about getting some more power, so appreciate the help.

You do have to reload the stock tune first before you update your Predator because the revision will reset the tool, losing the original backup.

Mike,
Does the new Diable tune offer more HP or just better throttle repsonse with the advancement of timing?

Also, I had the fans stepped up on my existing Diablo tune. Will that carry over to the upgrade--or put another way, does the upgrade only add/enhance the existing performance tune or does it overwrite it? After saving my factory tune, dowloading the update and then uploading it in the Vette, if the only thing different is the 93 octane tune, how does that show as an option? Is it a selected parameter that you change on the tool before you send it to the ECM or afterward when that tune is in the car?

Well, seeing as how Diablo must be all out playing golf today--I downloaded the update and after saving the factory tune, uploaded it to the Vette. Very easy--answered my own question about fan settings--they are not saved. Don't know if it is just wishful thinking, but the car feels stronger when you get on it. No spark knock noticeable, so I'm hoping the 93 will work ok with the 91 octane at this 7000 elevation. So far, so good. Will know more tomorrow when I drive to work. The 93 octane is the performance tune default. 91 octanes are set as options. I assume TM is still gone with my six speed???

Sorry guys, I was out of the office yesterday.
Glad you got it all figured out, and I am glad to hear you like the new tune, should be a tick faster now!

Timbo, the TCM revisions are in the works.

Thanks

Hey there, i,m not saying its right or wrong but where i live i can't get 93 octane either, but i do run the 93 octane tune in my 01 tahoe on 87 octane   fuel with mild modifications on my tahoe and in the pedetor tuner (u7198), and my elevation is about 3300 feet above sea level (Reddeer Alberta, Canada)
and I have never had any problems with detonation or pinging knock control always reads 0 even when i tried advancing my spark 12% (i have turned it back to 4% just cause i'm a chicken sh**) anyways i hoped i helped a little c-ya.
