2008 6.4l Ford regen issue

I'm using the predator u7164 running the version 9R12A. I'm running the tow tune
unit 1-8u7a-14c204-cg
unit 2-7u7a-14c337-ab
My issue is that when ever the truck goes into regen mode I get a strong exshuast smell in the cab. I put the truck back to stock by taking the tune out and I get no exshuast smell when the truck regens. I've also tried other tunes besides the tow tune and it happens on all of them. One more issue I have run into is the big hesitation in throttle respones while the truck is regening. It takes almost a 1/4 throttle from a dead stop for the truck to respond to anything.
