Airaid CAI and 7140 on '06 Mustang GT
I just installed the 93 octane tune right out of the box. First I removed the venturi from the inlet pipe as instructed by Airaid, reinstalled the MAF, and gave it the tune. I followed the directions to the letter, and fired that mutha up. The car barely ran... so of course I reinstalled the venturi in the CAI, and it runs much better. Does anyone have any experience with the Airaid CAIs and Predator? I know I can tweak the MAF in the tune, but I have no clue where to even begin. Any help would be appreciated greatly.

From the main menu in your Predator go to:
Options
OEM select
Airaid
Choosing Airaid here will set the tool up to apply tunes based on the proper MAF curve of the Airaid intake. You can then reinstall the tune from the Predator.
Thanks

Thanks very much!
I am completely thrilled with what the Predator has done for my Mustang. You have a fan for life! Also, thanks for the quick reply.

Still Having Trouble with Airaid CAI and U7140
I did as suggested, and it seems no matter what tune I choose after selecting Airaid from OEM Select, if the restrictor/venturi is not in the CAI, the car will not run. Any ideas?
Thanks a bunch,
Jim

Not sure. Double check the install and check for any leaks. I'll check with our tuners to see if they have any more info on that CAI, as I'm sure we have flowed it here on the bench with and without the venturi.
Thanks

I restored the factory tune and reset the Predator. I'll leave the venturi out and try tuning again from the beginning. More to come.
Thanks again,
Jim

I have the same setup. I forgot to take the insert out when I loaded the 93 octaine with firm shift. My car would not run unless under W.O.T.
I went home removed the insert and then the party started. Car ran fantastic. It dyno's at 284 rwhp.
Make sure you have the opening on the MAF facing the filter, not the Throttle body. The opening that I am refering to is where the MAF samples the intake air. If I remeber right the side that faces the filter is silver, also the opening is like 1/4" X 3/8", its not very big.
Hope This Helps.
ps,
when I had my car dyno's the guy tryid tweaking the a/f ratio and ended up going back to where Diablo had set it. Their tune is right on. Its got to be a mistake you've made either in the installation of the CAI or the tune.
When the tuner has finished installing the tune, be sure to turn you ignition "off" and then back "on" without starting the car. I missed this the first time I installed the tune cause I didn't "scroll" down and read the rest of the message on the tuner.
That is the only thing that I can think you may have done wrong.

twfolks,
It's strange, because before I loaded the first tune (93 octane), I took the venturi out. I loaded the tune and the thing would barely run at all. So I stuck the venturi back in without retuning and the car screams. I talked to Mike at Diablo, and he told me to load the Airaid 93 octane tune under Options > OEM Select, and all that was there were Modify Stock Tune and Backup Original. So I called them yesterday, and he said to grab the original backup out of the Predator, email it to him and they'd create a custom tune for me to run without the venturi. I must say I am impressed with these people and their customer service. I wish there were more companies out there who honestly care about their customers.
PS Where are you located? I'm in MO, South West of St. Louis.

Mike,
You guys OWN the tuning world! I loaded the file on the Predator, removed the venturi and re-tuned the car. My Mustang screams now... stickier, wider tires and wheels... I need stickier tires, LOL...
Thanks for everything,
Jim (sideways in first and second) Brooks
