2006 Charger High rpm intermittent squeal from engine

Post by CountWilhelm »

93 Octane Predator tune installed; In first gear, with WOT acceleration, upon reaching 4500-5500 rpm occasionally an intermittent squeal can be heard from engine compartment...was told possibly CAI could not handle flow so replaced with JLT (an awesome CAI-was using Mopar)...still there...belt looks good...have searched forums and others experience same issue...does not happen all the time...one theory: ambient air temp/moisture levels affect CAI performance...or alignment/tolerances of belt...and a host of other theories...does not affect performance...93 octane tune is incredible! Looking forward to adding Kooks Headers to Corsa cat-back...

Is it a squeal or a whistle. A whistlewould be the intake, a squeal is most likely the belt.
