2001 Chevrolet Silverado

Post by jackd »

When I plug in my new Trinity, I don't see 2001 as an available year. It is listed as a supported vehicle. I have run the updates through DSDownloader.

you may have to manually update the trinity for the class 2 vehicle support...

you need to go to the support/download page for the trinity, and download the file trinity_gm_j1850-1r08b_update.crom

then use the dsdownloader to Update Tool and select that crom file, etc etc...

Thank you. That took care of it. I thought it updated everything automatically.

The Trinity is awesome. It is nice to be able to transfer files between the PC and tuner with the SD Card.

I have read that the tunes are the same as the Predator tunes. I am just wondering why my LTFT settings aren't the same. I was at -4 on the Predator and now I am at -2 with the Trinity while it is cool outside. I am expecting to end up at 0 when the temps get out of the 70's and into the 80's and 90's. My PE settings are the same at -4.

I think I read somewhere that it is best to log for LTFT's when it is hot outside. It will range from about 15 - 100 degrees where I live. Right now, it is in the high 90's. Is my information correct? If so, I should log now for the optimum adjustment.

I am thinking I should adjust for a -2 reading at these temps since it will go back a little lean when it gets cold, right?

yeah... you should do the steady cruising data log for the ltft's during the warmest part of the day for the normal warm/hot summer temps for your area...

i.e. if a normal summer day is around 90* in your area, then do your steady cruising log when it's in the 90's in your area, and adjust the injector slope to get them dialed in to be around -1, -2...

then, you can just leave the slope adjustment alone and you're done...

and yes, when it gets cooler out, your ltft's will be more positive, which is fine... no need to adjust for them...

it's during the normal hot summer weather that you want the ltft's to be at around -1, -2...

fuel trims on my car are positive during cooler weather during the fall, winter, early spring... but once the normal warm/hot weather comes around, they're right where they should be...
