Can you use car to power predator if power supply fails?

So my U7135 Predator powers up just fine when plugged into my 2010 Challenger R/T but recently I purchased the pc connection kit and the power adapter that came with it won't power up the predator anymore... I went to radio shack to get another power supply and brought the predator to test it before I bought it and it still wouldn't power up the predator. So I'm thinking the port on the predator itself is fried somehow from the original power supply because it worked initially but then stopped. My question is do I need to send my predator in for repairs or can I just use my car to power it and do updates, etc. ??? Oh yeah and the predator wants to do a calibration update and currently won't tune my car. I have yet to tune the car at all because it wants this update. What do I do?

You can use the car to power it if you have a laptop. Calibration update directions are at
www.diablosport.com/dcx
I'd probably send in the unit for repairs while its still under warranty.

So if you plug in the Predator to the OBDII, it will power the Predator so you can do the updates in the car off a laptop? Do you need have the car in the ON position or have to set the Predator in any particular mode while the updates are being applied? I have to do the DCX update on a U7136. Thanks -JVM

You don't NEED to have it on, but I probably would keep it running to make sure I don't drain the battery and brick the Predator.
Keep the Predator on the main screen. When it goes to install the updates you'll have to cycle the power (unplug it and then plug it back into the port) and it'll automatically reboot into bootloader mode.
