2006 Charger R/T 1/4 mile time

I have a 2006 Charger R/T 5.7. I have added a cold air intake, a BBK 85mm throttle body and tuned it with a Predator U7135. I used the CAI, 91 octane performance tune. My best 1/4 mile time so far was 14.444 @ 99.96 mph. Last year without the the throttle body and Predator tune I was running 14.566 @ 98.28. So my times are only marginally better. Does the predator tune take effect immediately or does it have to "learn" ? I programmed it just before heading to the track. Is there a different tune I should try? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks, Reg

Your problem is the TB. Its too big. I see this all the time with Hemi owners. Unless you have internal engine work, the stock TB is fine. A bigger one doesn't bring in any more air, it just brings in the same amount with less velocity, which hurts torque production. Go back to stock, or at most a ported stocker, and you'll be better off.

my pcm needs to learn a tune better, usually takes 250 miles or so. air conditions and heat could be causing your times to not be much improved as well

yea I think that may be hurting you quite a bit, unless the air was REALLY bad.
My best time with my '05 Magnum RT AWD last year was 14.55 @ 96. This year with nothing done but the 91 octane CAI tune and a Frankentake IV, my best is 14.01 @ 99. 60 foot also went from 2.3 last year to a best of 2.08 this year
A buddy of mine with a bone stock '06 rt charger ran 14.3 @ 98 with no tuner or CAI.
We average 4000ft DA up here
