u7192 wont backup

Post by gtowagon »

I have a new u7192 that will not save the original backup. It is giving me a -12 and the message that it can not do a packup if there is a performance tune already installed. I have tried doing it with all ass fuses removed. I talked to tech on the phone and they verified that the tuner is communicating with the computer then they suggested I take it and have the pcm flashed. I took it to the dealer and had the pcm flashed but I am still getting the same message when I try to backup

I am having this exact same problem on a late '06 with an 8.1.... anybody have an answer? The last time I had this much trouble with a customers vehicle was back in '03 or '04 on a duramax..............the washer fluid was low.

Can you post your VIN so I can try this on the bench?
