I have a 2010 GMC Sierra 5.3 six speed auto transmission. So far I have purchased the U7194 DiabloSport Predator. I have tried the diablo program first and did not like it. I have tried the 87 octane program and it ran better. What good custom tunes or input would be greatly appriciated. I have a stock panel K&N Filter and a 2 chamber flow master exhaust. Help please!! Still need interface kit and K&N kit. Purchased 93 octane gas 3/4 of a tank full as it sits currently.

Sounds a lot like my setup...
First off, I fell in love again with my truck when I disabled DOD; only saw a slight MPG decrease but drivability of the truck went through the roof. After I got my fuel levels dialed in running the new MPG Booster tune with DOD off, the responsiveness of the truck was much improved, as well as a nice boost in hwy MPG (I was averaging low 20's MPGs at 75mph on the interstate)
So, in conclusion, turn off DOD, dial in your fuel trims and enjoy!!!
Oh btw, I have an '09 CC Z71 w/ 5.3l and 6-speed auto transmission. Running a drop in K&N filter, Air Raid jr. intake tube, Taylor throttle body spacer, Magnaflow muffler #12589

DOD is Displacement on Demand... same thing as Active Fuel Management... GM just changed the name, that's all....

Monte, there have been several complaints about the shifting characteristics of the new 5.3L/6spd transmission in the 2009 and newer Sierra and Silverado. Most of them involve complaints about erratic shifting at slow speeds that causes them to bang into gear, clank into gear during downshifts, and lunging foward when downshifting as you approach a stop as if it doesn't downshift fast enough. Mine also tends to hesitate as shifts from 1st gear and then slams into 2nd gear. I also noticed that if you apply hard acceleration, it seems to be holding back and I was told that "torque management" was the reason for that. I've been reading a lot about the improved HP and drivability resulting from the Predator tune. Does it correct the problems I mentioned above? My truck is 5.3L/6 spd with no mods, which is all I want. But I would like to correct the shifting issues if your programmer does that, along with disabling the DOD.

You may want to consider a trinity as we are Beta testing full TCM support in that tool

Will there be an update for the Predator for full TCM support?

No, it does not have the ability to do PCM and TCM.
Thanks

I just called Diablo about their trade-in program, because we are looking at trading in our 2004 Yukon for a 2010 Suburban. In a nutshell the salesman told me that if I opt to go with the U7194 it will not support transmission mods. He suggested upgrading to the Trinity which supports transmission mods. $250 for the U7194 vs $499 for the Trinity with my U7193 trade-in. I'm between a rock and a hard place right now.
Lew, how is the TCM beta version coming along?

I couldn't tell ya man... I don't have a truck or car with a 6-speed automatic heheh... once that is done and finally an official release, then they're supposed to be finishing up the T42 tcm support for the 4-speed automatics, which will be the one for my car...
you could always sell your predator online in one of the many forums around, for about $200... then put that towards a trinity purchase... trinity's are 600, then put that 200 towards it, and the trinity ends up costin' ya only 400...
