Problems with Predator

Post by dgparsons2 »

I just installed a new Predator/puck combo and I have two problem with it.

1. When reving the truck in neutral or park the RPM's go up and do not come back down, I have to kill the motor before it blows up.

2. I keep getting a permanent trouble code saying PCM not Programmed. Delete it and it keeps coming back.

Both problems happen on any setting.

If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.

Try restoring the backup and reinstalling the tune.

The code I keep getting says PCM not programmed. I have already updated to the r29 version.
The problem with reving is with any tune in neutral or park. It takes about 30 to 40 seconds to idle back down and the whole time it is spitting and sputtering. It does not do it when i put it back in stock mode.

By the way I am running the extreme rkl puff tune no timing added.
It is ok, but it does not feel as strong as the original extreme predator tune.

im also running the extreme rkl puff no timing,i love that tune.i think that code is normal,i was asking for what number it is.p-????.i think its p-148 is the normal one,i cant remeber.thats weird about the idle,i havent heard of that using the new r29 file.i had the idle issue with r28.maybe go back to stock and reinstall the r29 and then reinstall the puff tunes then put it in your truck, its alot of work but may help.

also are u using the puck?if so try removing it and see if u still have the isues.of course the extreme with no timing may not feel as responsive as with timing,i think timing adds responsiveness.

The idleing problem is worse with the puck than without. When you say remove it do you mean take it out completely or just turning it back to stock mode. Because it still does it in stock puck mode.
