Has anybody else had problems with a Trinity T1000 killing their battery. I've never had battery problems before but since installing a Trinity on the weekend I'v had to boost my truck 5 times this week.
Any suggestions?

You don't indicate the model/year of your ride.

I have an 07 Sierra New Body Style.

Do some googling. There are several TSBs on GM premature battery drain issues. Why are you sure it's the Trinity?

I had a faulty HVAC control actuator kill a 1 month old battery deader than a tree stump over night w/o warning.

Before that, the OEM battery crapped out at 3.x years old w/o warning. Batteries in general are going the made in CHina route, which is doing ANYTHING but prolonging battery life.

I think there are several possibilities here... not just the trinity.

My truck is a 2003 Sierra (like it says in the subject line) with a 6.0l. I've been running a FlashPaq for the last few years but a sales rep of mine wanted me to try an trinity so I agreed. It came in on Friday the 15th and I programmed it over the weekend. I haven't had to boost my truck since my battery died in the winter of 08 (-40 will do that) and I replaced it. Monday after work it would not start, boosted it and drove it home and left it run at 2500 rpm for 20 minutes to charge the battery. Tuesday morning it would not start and I had to boost it, checked and tightened the battery cables thinking maybe they were loose. Unplugged the Trinty Tuesday night and I plugged it back in Wed morning. Started Wed morning but not after work on Wed, had to boost again. Brought it in the shop and charged the battery Wed night. Started Thursday morning but was dead again on Friday morning. Removed the Trinity and charged the battery Friday night. Started Saturday, started Sunday.
Little too coincedental to not blame the Trinity.
Guess we'll see what happens tomorrow morning.

Hmm...havent seen this to be an issue on anything but 09-10 Challengers.

If it indeed is the trinity, it would mean it is waking up the PCM, which would then turn the O2 sensors on, which is what drains batteries.

If you get a chance, please let the truck sit for a few hours with the Trinity plugged in and then go underneath the truck and see if the exhaust is warm near the O2 sensors.

Thanks

Do I need to have it programmed? or just plugged in?

leave it in monitoring as you would normally, let it go to sleep and stay there.

doesnt matter if the tune is installed or not.

I only checked two of them but I would say the O2 sensors are not warm. Now what?

options/set sleep monitoring, raise it up to 30 seconds, and leave it for a day or two, see what happens.

To be honest, if its not heating the O2s, the trinity cant draw enough amperage to drain a battery at all...it would take over a month at least.

I'll do a draw test after work just for the heck of it.

Truck started after work but cranked heavy.
Did a draw test and here is what I found.
Truck off, accessories off, Trinity in monitoring mode but sleeping, 2.650 amp draw
Unplug the Trinity and draw drops to .060 amps
Plug Trinity in and draw goes to .174 amps.
Trinity is definetly killung my battery

I did change the sleep option to 30 seconds

Suggestions?

I have looked into this and been unable to reproduce it, but our engineers are still looking into it.

Thanks
