U7198 496 cubic inch pulls like 4 cylinder off the line!

I sent my programmer in because the screen wasn't working right and I thought this might be part of the tuning problem I was having,It was NOT! rma 5643.My 2001 Suburban 2500 4X4 8.1L pulls like a 4 cylinder from a dead stop with boths tunes even adjusting all normal parameters ,tm,revs,etc...I was wondering if a custom tune could correct this? also the fuel cut off is set to 3500 rpm in neutral and park in both tunes and stock will rev to 6000 can this be changed back to 6000 with a custom tune in the 93 and 87 octane tune?

Have you tried installing the tune without adjusting any parameters?
Give that a shot if possible, and let us know.

ok,93 octane tune no parameter adjustments. They just stoned my road (put stones on it) and it barely spins the tires from a dead stop full throttle.stock tune it screams sideways heading for the ditch posi locked haha.it seems to build power good after 3000 rpm but off the line it is horrible.stock is like a drag car compared to 93 tune.I have a mac cold air intake and a throttle body spacer with dual flowmaster hushpower 2 1/2 inch stainless mufflers after stock cat(s)?any ideas????

I tried turning all the tm's on for the heck of it and it got a little better but no where near how the stock tune is.After 3500 rpm's the truck takes off like a rocket ,I was wondering if the tune is too lean on the low rpm's starving it for fuel?

turning TM on will not help...it should be turned off.

I was seeing the same problem in my 2001 YukonXL 8.1L (really bad performance in 1st gear). Mike L sent me a custom tune that remedied the problem. It pulls so strong now, that if autotrac is on you can feel the front drivetrain engage during the shifts on dry pavement (apparently some rear wheel spin). Probably some risk of breaking the autotrac stuff. With the factory tune, the truck is considerably slower with autotrac on, but with the custom tune it is only slightly slower (tenth of a second 0-55mph).

Mine isn't as bad as the opener, but it's pretty lame. I run small diameter dual exhausts w/h-pipe and a S&B intake kit. I keep the MAF clean, but the truck has much lower torque.
