'05 Silverado 1500 6.0 L Tune Options?

Post by JohnT. »

I just bought a Trinity 1000 on a salesman's recommendation in response to my desire to down tune my pickup for low performance commuter/highway driving. I am not a young fellow looking for 'chick-attracting performance'.
As there is no in depth info detailed tune options available for reading or online viewing, I took his word for it.
After installing the unit in my truck, and trying to select from the listed tuning options, I am confused on which option actually provides me with the 'Economy' tune. There is only generic descriptions covering the 3 possible tune options, 2 of which both state that they 'iincrease power and torque without increasing fuel consumption' or something like that?
No 'Performance; Towing; or Economy' headings to guide a person.
Did I just purchase the wrong product?
Did I just break the seal on a non-returnable $750.00 cardboard box? :x
Or have I not set it up properly?
Help is most appreciated.

Any of the tunes will improve mileage ideally.

For best results, try the 87 octane tune and keep driving style the same, and you'll see 1-2 MPG increase.

Thanks

Thanx for the reply Mike.
I have been monitoring my mileage via the instrument display for a month now and have noted a change from 16.3 L/100km to 16.4 L/100km as of yesterday. It has actually gone up a little with the same driver.
I have been patiently optimistic after convincing my wife that we REALLY needed this device, but I don't see an improvement.
How long should I wait?
