using 89 on the 87 octane setting

new here and want to purchase one of your tuners
will running 89 octane hurt anthing when set to 87 tune, will also be using truck for towing which is its primary use.

U7137

truck is a 04 ram 1500 5.7

You will be fine. No problem running an 87 tune on 89 oct. You just can't do it the other way around.

ok thanks will the program hurt my truck wich has 200000 miles on it. reason asking somebody told me it would blow the engine

Who ever told you that has a blown mind. You will be fine as long as you are not haveing any issues before you load the tune. You know a rod knocking ect.

i'm betting he might be one of the people who is lucky enough to have a dak with a hemi transplant. it would be sick to have a rcsb dak with a hemi.

There is not a 87 octane tune (at least named like that) I have read here & there (do a serch on the forum) that the MPG booster tune is actually a 87 octane tune if that is the case (I think that Mikel posed that somewere) you will be fine using 87 fuel with that tune.

my predator has a 87 octane tune. Pretty sure that's on all the DSPs for the Ram.

I have an 02 dakota 4x4. I was thinking of puting in a 5.7 but was told by some that the 5.7 was to wide to fit.
