cold air intake

I am thinking of trying a cold air intake. I have heard they make alot of noise, or more noise when you boot it. Like the old days of flipping the air cleaner lid. Anyway any prefs on brand. I was looking at the AFE today. I am not sure what is available here at home. I know that K&N is always around but I am not a big fan. They seem to be more money.

I have a stage 1 AFE, the only extra sound I hear is the turbo, but its not all that much, and definetly doesn't sound like the old gas engines with the air cleaner cover turned over....

Im also running a AFE stage 1, its a great intake but does make more noise like any aftermarket intake. Also the cannon is coming out soon from AFE. Give it another month, this thing is HUGE! Its a 6" round filter with like a 4" tube. If you dont tow the stage 1 is great, if you are pulling or racing the stage 2 is a must.

thanks guys. I just ordered the stage 2. great price from pdrdiesel.com . I first orderd the stage 1, then after looking harder at the info realized I wanted the whole thing pipe and all. So called back and they changed the order. Still trying to get hold of diesel manor ppl so I can order those guage sets they have. Very cool the kit they sell with everything in it one needs.

Well installed the AFE stage 2. Easy to do, Now I know I have a turbo. and yes it is the Canon that I have. It is huge, at first looking at it I didnt think it would even fit under the hood. I think the engine cannot complain about not enough air now.
