fuel pressure too high code?

Post by ram2500 »

Hi

I downloaded the stack tow tune and the check engine light came on. The down loader said it was "fuel pressure too high" it does not say what code number it was. At the time I had the puck position in the off mode. Has anyone else got this code before and what caused it? The truck is a 05.

Lots of people have had that code. I got it a few times, but that was on extreme stacker with the puck on 60. The fact that you got it on tow stacker with the puck off is odd tho.

I drove 3600 miles in the Tow setting, and the Puc was set at 90hp, and had no troubles. Everything ran great.

ive been using just the puck for a while now with no problems. As well as other settings I got the code after i was merging onto the highway and it revved to 3k. Anyway I think im just going to use the puck for now.

You need to replace your fuel filter. I would recommend changing it yourself at every oil change.

DO NOT USE A WIX FUEL FILTHER!!! They are junk. Its bad enough that dodge used a 7micron filther to start with, however the injectors were made for a 2micron filther. Sorry if I ranted or hyjacked but, you relly needed to know that.

When I first started using my Predator I would get that code anytime I tried to tow. The truck would run just fine though. In fact I drove all the way from DC to Philadelphia, to Pittsburgh, to Ypsilanti Michigan, and back to DC with that check engine light on and had no problems. I hooked the trailer up last week and did not get the code for the first time...

Madman, I assume you are calling it a filther on purpose...
