Trinity RMA Question

Vehicle: 2006 Dodge Charter R/T 5.7
Item: Trinity r06 to r08
Just a question. I ordered the trinity as soon as it came out. I had been running the r06 firmware for a couple of years with no issues. Just two days ago I decided to update the firmware to r08 which caused it to render itself unusable by doing this "an internal update has been applied, please recycle power" loop. No matter how many times I cycle the power, it still displays that message upon power-up.
I've left it off overnight and still not resolved..
Now, my question.. Why, when I tried to update your trinity product, using the cable you provided, the software you wrote from your own website, using the r08 firmware that you also wrote, which rendered the device unusable, would I need to pay $100 (plus obvious shipping which I can understand) for you to fix it? It's obviously the update that broke it.
According to the internet (plus this forum) I'm not the only person that had their unit "bricked" with the r08 update. Just curious.
