hmmmm, ok, based on your other post, a few observations:

1) if you are trying to adjust the non-E85 tunes to be specific E85 tunes, not sure you're going to get there with the tune adjustments.
2) I believe you're going to need a dedicated E85 tune
3) Not sure if the U7194 has dedicated E85 tunes (don't think so)

The AFR adjustment I am aware of in the tuner is a WOT PE adjustment, as, with the gas tunes, the engine is always running to 14.7 AFR unless you mat it. At that point, assuming your trims are all adjusted right, you CAN manipulate the WOT AFR to get to an ideal WOT AFR of 12.6, if it isn't there already.

If you adjusted the PE AFR to the stop, I recommend resetting all adjustments as you may have something that won't bode well for ya.

Again, just tryint to read between the lines here. I may have misunderstood you.

Why wouldn't the e85 run well with the 93 octane tune ? And will it hurt the truck to just adjust the fuel trims and not the AfR since the directions are still very unclear on how to do so ...?

Essentially two different fuels.

A "flex fuel vehicle", essentially, has an algorithm that represents two ECMs in 1 and a methodology to detect what fuel is being run.

The timing tables are different, the stoichiometric AFR is different, the heating value of the fuel is different, the detonation resistance is different, and a whole host of other things (fuel properties and engine operabiltiy/control) are different.

Ethenol is mostly C2H5OH (85%, i.e. E85), gasoline can be represented closely (thermodynamically) with octane, C8H18. Two differently characterized fuels.

I am afraid, and maybe DS folks can chime in here, the entire timing table has to be different for E85, not just the AFR adjustment --- assuming you could adjust AFR enough and appropriately --- which I don't think the predator out of the box can do.

yeah, if you're going to run E85, you need to get a custom tune done specifically for E85... contact andy at dynotuneusa.com, he's an e85 tune wizard....

the preset canned diablo tunes are made for regular/normal gas, not e85...

not really... as indicated by Grumpy above, with the different timing/fuel burning/AFR characteristics of E85 and all of the stuff that needs to be changed/adjusted correctly for running on e85, it can not be done with just the parameters that are available on the handheld itself... should really get a custom tune done for E85...

I know it's a 2011, 4.8L... dunno about it being flexfuel or not, doesn't say in his posts anywhere...

if it is flexfuel, just use the 93 tune and let it rip.

If its not, you need a custom tune.

Hey mike,

So can I assume that the predator modifies both gas and E85 tables for a flex fuel engine? ... and it will work OK? Or, the ECM uses 1 timing table and a second collection of modifiers for the E85? I did not know this.

This is interesting.

I learned something today.

FRANKAAAAAY!!!! glad to see ya back around man - been a while!! same for me, I just got my power back last night.. .I've been 8 days with no power, no water, no heat, after snow storm Alfred a couple weekends ago....

anyway, no... there is nothing e85 specific in the tune files...

flexfuel to non-flex fuel vehicle, the tune files are the same... at least what's available via the CMR software is... there is no difference, no e85-specific tables or settings... looks like any other tune file...

The fuel sensor determines how much ethanol content there is, and it does add fuel and timing, so it has to be there somewhere ;)
