I have a 2010 silverado 4x4 wt. i am looking at getting the diablew tune and am wondering how well it works. I am sure i know the answer already but will i see power torque and mpg gains from the custom tune or is it one over the other. also i do tow and haul will that be affected good or bad.

Hi there! I'm sure others will chime in with their experiences, and I don't want to just give you my own experienced info since it could be construed as being biased, hehe...

so for now, I will just reference a link that goes to a small sample of just some of the testimonials I've received from some of the people I've done my tunes for, and you can read at your leisure, cool?

http://www.diablewtune.com/testimonials.html

Thanks for inquiring about my tuning, I appreciate it! And welcome to the diablosport family!!!

I HIGHLY recommend the Diablew Tune. I got my LTFTs dialed in on my own and really didn't gain a noticeable difference from the stock Predator Tune. But once I got the Diablew Tune in I noticed a big difference right off the bat. The difference between the DiablewTune and the Predator tune was about equal to the difference between the Predator Tune and the stock tune. So you're going to double your gains from only 1/3 the price and it will be custom tuned specifically for your vehicle. I know a lot about tuning (I custom tuned my old GTP to run E85 with just about every bolt on modification available) and I can tell you that if you want it done right, you need a custom tune. I haven't had a chance to check my actual MPG's yet the old fashioned way with a calculator and a gas pump but my display in my truck is staying steady above 16mpg, it used to stay around 14-15 with the Predator Tune. You will get HP, torque, and MPGs with the Diablewtune along with an engine that is running with more correct fueling than with a factory or predator tune meaning the custom tune is actually better for your vehicle as well. It's also really easy to do and Lew was a really great guy to work with. He responded very quick to all my emails and was informative as well as a nice guy. Hope this helps you out and I hope that you decide to go with it as I know you'll be happy you did.

I highly recommend a Lew Tune. My 2010 Camaro SS and My 2004 Chevy Avalanche have had serious improvements in performance and efficiency.

Bottom line my Camaro picked up nearly 4/10s of a second in the 1/8 mile and almost 7 MPH with just the Lew's tune. If maximum performance and reliability of the vehicle matter to you get Lew to do your tune. The numbers don't lie and have tested the before/after. I can email you scans of my drag strip times if you want to see them.

Before the Tune

Time in the 1/8 Mile 9.1 seconds
Speed at the 1/8 Mile 77 MPH

After the Tune

Time in the 1/8 Mile 8.7 seconds
Speed at the 1/8 Mile 84 MPH
AVG Fuel Efficiency Increase +1%

Diablew Tune

All I can say is you better call up Hogwarts because this guy is a straight up wizard with this stuff. My truck performs 100 times better thanks to Lew. It's really something you have to experience because words don't do any justice for this guy. I would definitely recommend Diablew Tune a thousand times over.

i had lew do a tune on my truck and the gains were very noticeable.the horsepower gain from the seat of the pants was quite noticeable.i pull a 21' ranger bass boat up and down the hills and noticed it towed easier than before.i might also add you may want to consider adding a cold air intake and cut that big bbq pit of a muffler off and let her rip.lew is a good guy and will do right by you.

Lew had wrote a custom tune for my 2011 GMC Sierra and it was perfect!

I was initially skeptical about his tune vs a custom dyno tune, so i had sold my tuner and went to have my truck custom tuned on the dyno, end result...... It was almost identical. Lew does a great job and gets his tunes dead on!!!!!!!!!!!

when I bought my predator for my 2005 GMC sierra I didn't like the 91 octane tune, and Lew re-assured me that if he did a custom tune I would be much happier, I was a bit skeptical about it, but I decided to let Lew do a custom tune for me. we worked on that truck for hours til we got it right were I wanted it, that truck would really turn it on! it also saved me a lot of fuel! I could easily get 200km to 1/4 tank of fuel, and that wasn't driving it easy ;) . I now have a 2009 GMC Sierra, I also got Lew to tune it as well and my my AVG L/100km is 10.5 to 100km and I also have lots of power to spare when I am pulling my fifth wheel trailer!

Thanks Lew!!!

Diablew tune... no brainer to those who know!

Post by joeyz71 »

I don't see how Lew does it. I keep modding and changing my truck and he just keeps making whatever I do to it work, and work well.

The only thing I can't vouch for is mpg, but my situation is different. my 2003 SilveradoSS is supercharged and I've done several other things to it. If I was N/A, I'm sure I would see the mpg gains.

If it weren't for the Diablew tune, my engine WOULD have failed by now.

Eventually you may decide on headers, CAI, lower temp thermostat, etc... I paid for the custom tune and every time I've changed something, he has never failed to help me. If customer service means anything to you, you will not be disappointed!

Ok, I could literally go on forever. Oh, buy a hat and t-shirt too!

Just do it... You will not regret purchasing a DiabLew tune. Lew does very good work and really customizes every parameter for your specific vehicle. I have several friends running his tunes including myself.

Thanks,
Tom

Had Lew tune my 2 trucks, got a buddies truck done and just bought another truck and getting a tune from him again. They are awesome! Pull harder, throttle response is incredible, shifts harder and all around spanks any canned tune out there! You won't be disappointed!

Thanks for all the help and advice so far. I have just sent my payment and will shortly be sending my log files for tuning. I have two different logs so far. one is holding at -.078 on both banks for ltft's and the other is at -.078 on bank 1 and -1.56 on bank two. The log with -.078 on both is the newest log. is this an issue. should i send both when sending the log for tuning. The only mod i have done is a cold air kit from k and n.

nope, not an issue.. sounds just about perfect actually...

just need the data logs, and the copy of your "original backup" tune file and a copy of the "last tune written" tune file, and we'll be good to go! :)
