.lan file?

Post by DonV »

I exported my backup file to my PC and it's a .lan extension. Now what? It's a mailorder tune and I want to look at it before having my PCM flashed stock on Monday.

I have upgraded your version software so I assume from reading that tune is gone, correct? When I plug the Pred in after the Stock flash i should have no problems and my backup tune will be the original GM tune, correct?

Thanks. Don V

#1 - you can't "look at" or "view" the tune file....

#2 - before having your car's ECM reflashed to stock, make sure you have restored the original backup from the Predator to your car.

#3 - you didn't state what your vehicle is or what model Predator you have, so any further info is being placed on hold...

Thanks for your reply and Sorry about the lack of info on the model and car. 6194 being used on a 2006 C6 Corvette.

1. I thought that since it's a program, some program would allow it to be viewed. It had to be written in programming language so it should be able to be viewed.

2. The original backup of the PCM (GM's original file) was over written by the tuner. Is this what you are refering to? Or is it the tune the pred downloaded when hooked to the PCM the first time?

Thank you

DiabloSport has internal tools for doing so. And so do licensed CMR dealers. However, that is not a piece of software that is given away for free to Predator customers.

The original backup is indeed the file that the Predator downloaded when hooked to the PCM for the first time.

Hi John C - Thank your for clarifying that for me in regards to viewing the files. I understand the viewing/massaging program is only for you and your dealers. no problem but I also felt someone can open those files.

Regarding the BU file - I'll keep my canned tune as my backup then and have the PCM GM flashed on Monday.

Thank you again, Don Vogel

As was suggested, you should restore the original backup to your car before having it flashed to stock.

This is not an option.
You will be locked out of the Predator unless you restore the backup before the reflash.

Thank you for your help. The re-flash and update went fine, I understand about your "locking" procedure. FYI - I uploaded the Pred tune in the dealers parking lot. Runs good, more torque then the mail order canned tune. Again thanks for your help.
