Tune stops 20% through backup...

Hello all,
Just received my brand new Predator U7195 and have made a couple of attempts to program my '03 GMC Yukon XL w/ 8.1 Vortec. I've pulled the OnStar fuse, set the parking brake to turn off the DRL's and manually turned off the headlights. I can make it through the first 20% of the backup of the stock program and that's as far as I get. I notice that when the backup first starts, the dashboard display tells me "Unknown Driver" as opposed to Driver 1 or Driver 2, but right before the backup stops the display goes back to Driver 2 (me!) and all the gages start to work again (voltage, etc.). One interesting thing is that the Predator display shows a single out-of-place dot right below and between the 2 and the 0 of the "20% Completed" message.
I've had the battery charger hooked up and it reads 100% charged, since I've read quite a few posts where low voltage seemed to cause a similar problem. That hasn't made any difference in trying to get everything backed up.
Any suggestions are very welcome...
Rich
