Need a dependable street car

I just bought my 02 Mustang GT several days ago and want to beef it up a bit, but I need it to be a dependable everyday street car. I thought about new gears but decided 373's or 410's wouldn't be for an everyday street car. I also thought about a shift kit until a guy at the tranny shop said that shif kits don't do what they used to becuase of the computers in cars. That is when I looked into the Diablo Sport Predator. Will the Sport Predator give me the extra shift firmness much like a shift kit in a 67 mustang? I've read the user manual but didn't understand what all it would do to the fuel economy, power, shift points and firmness, etc. Can someone explain this and tell me if the Sport Predator would be good for my situation...needing a dependable vehicle with a little more power (and a firm shift). The last thing I need is to get up for work and the tranny or engine be blown.

I would suggest checking out Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords magazine. They have a ton of good information on how to mod your stang, what order to do it in, what impacts what and they have back issues that you can search for specific mods, such as tuning for example and automatic transmissions. happy hunting and enjoy modifying your mustang, just be careful, it becomes a way of life.
