as soon as i install the u7131 my idle starts to get rough, the whole truck shakes tried different power levels but the same, it sounds like in the exhaust like the engine is missfiring, I have the r16 downloaded as well. I guess ill just take it out again till we get some answers about this. As soon as i remiove the downloader the idle is as smooth as silk and even with my edge, Dr performance stack its smooth so is there a new flash for this symptom is is this downloader as good quality as the rest of them.

also this symptom seems like it started to get worse as time went by, when i first flashed the predator and had it in there it seemed fine and i had it in there for a month or so and then it started this symptom.

Try doing a full restore of the tune:
Options/
Troubleshooting/
restore original backup
Do this, then try reinstalling the tune from the new update, and it should fix the issue.
Thanks

so when i took it out i went to performance tunes and then restore original back up, now with this done do i have to go thru ther steps that you provided or do i have to download it in the truck first then do the steps you specified? Also when i do the steps you specified when you mean do a full restore do you mean do to my pc and upload the r16 again to the predator or something else? It idled rough all the time you can hear it in the exhaust that its almost miss firing or something.

What I mean by full restore is to follow the steps I outlined above and let it write the complete stock tune.
Once that is done, go ahead and apply the tune from the Predator.
Thanks

Is there a tune in the truck?
It will not let you do a full restore if there is already a stock tuneon the truck.

When I had my suprchips installed, I think that if I took the stock tune out, but left in the tire diameter change, the tuner did not consider itself entirely removed from the truck. It may be the same for high idle, I am not sure.
FYI & good luck.

By the way, what is your build date? There was an ECM change in 6/06. My truck build date is 6/06. So I don't know which ECM I have. But I have read that some companies have had trouble with the 06.5-07 tuners being a bit confused when working with programmers.

yes mike i think its totally out, when i removed the tune from truck i went to the area where you can pick what tune you want, eg tow, performance, extreme etc and then scrolled to the [restore original backup line and picked it] then it asks you are you sure bla bla bla, then the 5 min wait. Is there something else i should be doing?

Like I said....please apply a tune, then, if you did not do so, go to options/troubleshooting/restore original backup.
If you restored in the manner you just described, it will not fix it.
Thanks

ok i loaded the tune again in the truck then did the total restore like you said to do, drove truck a bit then reloaded the tune in the truck again on extreme and is much better for now. Time will tell if it stays this good because this is what it did the first time but it took a while then started to idle rough. Thanks for your help.
