I have a 2007.5 Duramax with the Predator U7186 V.9r04, I've put over 200K miles on truck with programmer without any problems what so ever until now. Its time to make a decision to replace DPF or delete it. Does Diablo offer a delete program?
Thanks, Blake

What kinda miles do you have on it? It could very well be beyond its useful life. As leeindy stated it is like a 10000 dollar fine if caught without it and a new system is very pricey... 3 options come to mind
- search the bone yards for a used low mileage assembly
- buy new OEM could be up to 7000 bucks
- go aftermarket (http://www.dieselemissiontechnologies.com/det/ )

RE: DPF Delete
dpfs kill me.
even if it reduced emissions by 100%, it KILLS mileage, which is depleting resources, so its a fail either way.
The fact that removing it can get you an instant 5+ MPG, and a $10000 fine from the EPA is RETARDED. Makes me wonder...if you were going to keep the truck for a long time and put 3-400000 miles on it, would the $10K fine pay for itself in fuel savings after you picked up 5-6 MPG???????????????????????????????????

RE: DPF Delete
if my math is correct it would take nearly 250k miles before you would start to see a savings at the pump vs the fine

RE: DPF Delete
thats not unreasonable for diesels that run 3-400,000 miles easy....not that I would condone such action

RE: DPF Delete
right, but by driving with the DPF in place, you are LOSING at least 4-5 MPGs, so its murdering the earth right off the showroom floor
My point is that the trade off for slightly cleaner air can't be worth the depletion of natural resources caused by the abysmal mileage.

RE: DPF Delete
i see your point but i make a counter point.
in the case of pollution your damned either way.
so is the extra consumption of fossil fuels worse than the damage to the ozone? if you didnt have these and got better mileage is the extra fossil fuels used saving the ozone or is it causing more pollution due to needing more fuel to do the same things?
all this is on top of the fact that building a hybrid car ( im talking to you toyota) causes more pollution than 5000 regular cars produce in a year. the problem with going green is were all onboard until it affects our pocket or our convenience. im just as guilty as the next guy except i dont care. zombies are gonna wipe everyone out before the ozone disappears.
