I have a 2011 Tahoe 5.3, I like the smoothness of the transmission and do not want a firmer "bump" type of shift. Some of the reviews I've read for Diablo (and other companies) have said that the tuners firm up the shift points almost to feeling them bump into gear rather than smoothly shift as per the stock settings.
What I'm after is more power particularly on the low-end, it just feels like the engine is underpowered. I have a 5.3 in my 2000 Yukon and it feels just fine. I realize the Yukon is a 4speed vs. the 6 speed in my Tahoe. Just wondered if it's possible for the Intune to give the engine a more powerful feel without messing with the factory smoothness of the transmission?

Yes, the tunes will do just that.

the shifts may be firmed up in the preset tunes, but they can be set back to stock settings with a custom tune...

RE: 2011 Tahoe 5.3
Thanks for the replies - though they look to be a little bit contradictory.
Will the stock, out of the box tunes with the Intune cause a noticeable increase in shift firmness...or not? And if they do cause a noticeable increase in firmness, is it something that I can change myself easily? Could DiabloSport tech support do it for me? Or would I have to pay a custom tuner to do it?
What I want is quite mild, really. No change in transmission smoothness, just a little bit more oomph on the low to mid range power when accelerating.

the canned preset tunes do make it shift firmer... it's not something you can change yourself, you would need to get a custom tune created in order to have it reset back to stock settings for that... just post up your original backup and last tune written files here on the forum and someone will do it for you...

Ok, I've decided to buy the Intune with the Custom Diablew tune package for $485. Just need to save a few more pennies in the meantime before I buy.

I went with the same deal you did bcb1, I'm looking forward to seeing what Lew can do aftere play with the tuner a little bit. I honestly think that the 87 octane tune's shift firmness will be fine for you. I can't even tell a difference at part throttle until I get over 3,000 rpm then I start to get a little more hint of a bump. At WOT the truck leaps forward into the next gear.
