6.2 Silverado tuner arrived today

Post by dpb119 »

My programmer arrived today. Plugged it into my 6.2 Silverado this evening and downloaded the "Diablo Tune". It seems to make some difference. I got some squeal on 2nd... I'm new to the programmer world and don't know all the parameters yet. I need to learn how to tweak the tune. Doesn't seem to have any manual shift tweaks, but maybe I missed that. I didn't really get a chance to mess with it much... Once of the things I hate about my truck is the autostick has a rev limiter... It's worthless.... I need to figure out how to disable this...

You didn't miss it, there is no tcm/tranny support for the inTune yet...

Well, I went back out after supper and tweaked the RPMs and went for a drive. That made a big difference. I got pretty good squeal at a 40MPH running start to WOT. At 0, it really takes off and will break lose at 2nd. I'm totally stock except for an Air Raid and an LS7 TB.

Monte- Can you tell me what to expect by changing fuel and injector settings? Is this something I can play with without screwing something up?

Pretty decent review,
Exactly what I am looking to hear before I make my purchase.

All I need now is to know that TCM support has been completed and is available for intune. Im not going to order until it is available to the public.

Let us know if you are able to notice any MPG improvements if you can keep your foot out of it long enough.

You can always update the hardware when it does come out by plugging it into your computer.
The apostrophe does not mean "Look out, here comes an S"!

"I couldn't care less" means it is impossible to care less - "I could care less" just makes you look stupid.

don't just make blind adjustments... you need to do some data logging to see where your average long term fuel trims are at...

by getting the fueling dialed in a little better, you will get better throttle response and acelleration/performance, and usually even a little better mileage...

Yeah thats true, but so is the fact that TCM support was supposed to come to the predator but never did. Im going to wait unitl its officially official.

so monte, im new to this whole thing, my old truck had a plug and play hypertech which worked fine for its use....
I know the intune does data logging, but to make the fuel trim adjustments you just mentioned, is that also done through the intune, or do we have to send out the data to a custom tuner with your software?

sorry for all the questions.

you can do the data logging and make some fueling adjustments with the intune yourself...

OK. Thanks... I'll start collecting data and get a baseline.

Did some datalogging last night. The OBD2 says it is not currently supported? There seems to be quite a few menu items that are not currently supported. Not sure if this is for the Silverado only or what. I am really hoping this is a short term thing, because I was expecting more from the features hype...

This is my first programmer, so I can't really compare it to anything else I have tried... Am I expecting more than I should from this package?

There was no kitchen sink in the box

Just hoping the " Not supported now" Parts don't take long. I am happy with the driving results.
