Received my InTune today.........

Post by BlackZ71Silverado »

Only drove 20 miles but here are my thoughts in this very short amount of time.......I installed the canned 87 Octane tune and disabled AFM and adjusted tire size, same exact set-up I was running with the Predator with the 9r18 configuration.

The InTune is light years above the Predator, not sure what you guys did to the canned tunes but my truck is much, much quicker and responsive than with the Predator running the same set up. The truck also idles smoother than it did with the other programmer. A short stab of the throttle and the tires break loose (gotta get used to that).

I was suprised with the actual size of the tuner when I opened the box. The programmer itself is only the size of the Predator screen and is very easy to use. It loaded the tune at least 10x's faster than the Predator and the touch screen is easy to use and works great. I did not have to select type of transmission or anything like that, the InTune did that all for me.

Looks like you guys really got a good thing here. Standing by for tranny support and looking forward to really getting it dialed in and possibly after the winter getting a custom tune (if I can get permission to spend the extra $).

If anyone is hesitant to get the new InTune because it's "new" or had a bad experience with the Predator don't be. Very impressed so far.

I got a question but not necessarily InTune related :
Since running my InTune just for a short time, I noticed a big difference like my review above says. I installed my Predator program into my dads 2008 Silverado V-Max with 9r18 in it because that it what I was running. Are there any performance gains to be seen by updating this Predator to the latest version, or are the updates just for new vehicle calibrations? I am only asking because it seems like the InTune is so far performing much better than the Predator did in the same vehicle with the same settings, except for the latest revision installed.
Thanks.

Yes, I seem to recall the truck tunes were updated after 9r18 for better shifting ;)
