SUCCESS!!
Well, as you may or may not know from my previous post, I have a 2008 JGC SRT8 with approx. 38k. Purchased it about a month ago and still have yet to receive a list of the "modifications" the previous owner did from the dealership from which I purchased the truck from. I also didn't know whether I had a factory tune. I ordered (and received) my Predator. I have installed the Airaid CAI and am awaiting my BT Catch-Can which will be installed the day it arrives.
Since receiving the Predator, I hooked it up to the computer and updated as necessary (this was a couple of days ago). Today, I finally got up the balls to attempt the Predator on the truck. Plugged it in and proceeded to attempt to install the 93 Octane CAI tune. Predator did it's thing... saved existing tune (which must have been the factory tune or else it wouldn't have saved it) and then reprogrammed the truck with the performance tune I selected. After all was said and done, the CEL was gone and lo and behold, the truck RUNS FREAKING GREAT!! Took it for a quick blast around town and damn, what a difference! The best thing is... THE CEL IS GONE (for now). Time will tell on the CEL but overall I am very pleased with how my JGC SRT8 is now running with the DiabloSport Performance Tune. Will keep you posted.

RE: SUCCESS!!
UPDATE: Rec'd BT Catch Can and installed today. CEL came on prior to install. Haven't had a chance to plug in the Predator to get a reading and I'm still waiting for the list of mods.

RE: SUCCESS!!
Of course the light came back. The problem is still there. It just went away because the computer was reset when you flashed a tune. Gonna need to hit up a CMR tuner to turn whatever the code is off in a custom tune.

CEL=check engine light
Last CEL prior to flashing the tune was P0300 - Random Misfire. Will get a chance to check it on Predator in the next day or two. Can't imagine it would be anything else.(?)

RE: Re: SUCCESS!!
It'll be the same code. Kinda wonder if the truck may be cammed. Thats what normally causes that code.

I can raise misfire threshold to get rid of code, if it is cam caused code.
RE: Re: RE: Re: SUCCESS!!
Wouldn't surprise me if it did have a cam mod, the salesman said that the guy who owned it did a bunch of stuff to it - one of the other guys said it was bored out (could be bs) and that it had hp wires and they did say it was so modded up that they couldn't offer extended warranty - it was already out of warranty anyway cuz it had 37,000+ miles when I drove it off the lot. I did get a 30 day, 3k mile dealer warranty (which I took FULL advantage of - upper driver side control arm, 4-WD system check light repair, rear brakes, rear tires). I'm past that now so it's all on me. STILL waiting for the list of mods of which I've asked for on several occasions but they're not obligated to provide it so I may be stuck flying blind. Additionally, the tech said the CEL would be a common occurence with what was done to the truck, whatever that means.

RE: Re: RE: Re: SUCCESS!!
Well, I can tell you for sure that it didn't have hp wires. The Hemis don't have any spark plug wires. The coils mount directly to the plugs. So if they BS'd about that, who knows what other crap they're feeding you.
RE: Re: RE: Re: SUCCESS!!
That's what I figured cuz I didn't see any "special" wires and after reading a few boards realized that there weren't any spark plug wires. Was just a bunch of salesmen standing around bs'ing so I took everything they said with a grain of salt but the Tech did say that it definately had been modded.

Come to find out, the dealership didn't know the previous owner and the truck was purchased at auction. Just freakin' great. Would have been nice if I knew that prior to purchase. Not that I'm unhappy with the truck - I do love it - but now I may never know what the mods are. Oh well, flying blind.

RE: Re: RE: Re: SUCCESS!!
Just a thought, but don't the DMV keep a record of previous owner's of the vehicle?
RE: Re: RE: Re: SUCCESS!!
Think I'm getting smoke blown up my a$$. Checked the Jeep.com website and entered the VIN. Seems that the dealership that I purchased the truck from has been servicing this truck since 7/2010. Is there a problem with a dealership selling modded vehicles? Perhaps that is why they are so averse to providing the info.

Make's sense, how else would they all know so much about a vehicle bought at a auction but not say. Give the DMV a try or tell them you had the door panel off and found a exspenive diamond inside the door and want to return it.lolololol
