Need a Fix - Tranny Tuning Problem

Post by Badjustbad »

The following thread was originally posted in the Backup Corrupt thread but was never resolved so I'll try again with a new thread.

I have a 2011 Silverado 1500 4x4 with the 6.2. The first thing I did to the Trinity was install all updates – even before connecting it to the truck.

With both the Diablo performance tune and the MPG booster tune installed, when I drive at approximately 70mph and put the gas to the floor (i.e., hit passing gear) the truck revs to the redline then feels like it slams into gear. The effect is very violent, like revving a car in neutral and dropping it in gear. If I hook my trailer to the truck I don't expect the transmission to survive very long.

mikel provided a new tune to try (In the previously mentioned thread) but the results were very soft shifting. The shifting felt like stock shifting or even softer - if that's possible. What I expect to see with a performance tune is quick and firm shifting without the revving to redline.

I'm currently running the stock tune because I don't want to damage the tranny. Can you please take another look at this problem.

Diablo support

I understand from the Support web page that you would prefer to use the forums where ever possible to resolve issues with your products. I originally posted the above problem on Dec 20th and its still unresolved (I've actually posted 3 problems - all unresolved). Yeah, I realize there was a Christmas break during that time so it has only been 6 working days but a simple response saying when you will get back to me wouldn't take that much time, and it would indicate that my problem is actually getting some attention.

Can you please take a look at the issue I describe above and give me some kind of an estimate as to when I can expect a solution. If you prefer, I can phone the support line if that is how I get a quicker response but I already tried that once and was directed to use the Forums (See Backup Corrupt thread).

Thank you.

if it will not let you restore the backup now, give us a call and we'll get it to do that, then update to this version to fix the issue.

Thanks

I just gave the Diablo Hard Shift tune a very short test drive and it appears the shifting issue has been resolved. I will test it more thoroughly (also using the softer tune) when it's safer on the roads - there are incredibly high winds today and it's hard to keep the truck between the ditches when it gets up to speed. I sure wouldn't want to be driving an empty semi in the foothills today - winds are probably 65 mph or more.

BTW Mike, the quick response today was the kind of support I had heard I could expect from the Diablo support team. It's one of the reasons I bought the Trinity. Thank you.
