As some of you know I have been trying to connect my Predator to my laptop with Windows Vista with no luck. I was wanting to update the Predator because it is running v.9r21 and the latest update is v.9r22. So I decided to just hook it up to my SRT-4 but when I hook it up to the car it says that I need to update the Predator.
So I gave up on the laptop with Windows Vistaand loaded Windows XP on another laptop. I decided to use a serial cable and not the usb cable. The XP laptop does not find the Predator using the serial cable. I loaded the driver for the usb cable and it still does not find the Predator.
Now what do I do? Any ideas? Anyone?

Make sure you're running in Administrator Mode.

Keep in mind it can sometimes take a minute or two for your computer to find the Predator. Buy a USB to serial cable from Radio Shack. Try different techniques for connecting like getting everything powered up before plugging in the USB end to your computer, or plugging in all and then powering up the predator.

Have an older Dell laptop running Vista. Found that I had to use a serial to serial cable and it works perfectly.
