So got my brand new Intune today from diablosportpower.com and what do i really get. My programmer is already messed up from the manufacturer where the obd2 cable plugs into it and cant even get ahold of diablosport to find out what the deal is. Deciding if i should just return the product for my money or get a replacement. I was gonna us it on my 2009 Silverado Vortec max. Need opinions cause at this point im just pissed for that kind of money and what the product really is. I know it says made in the USA but sure feels like it was made in China and its not steel construction it just has one single steel band around the edge.

Also one more question will this intune do everything that the predator will do. For example disabling the fuel management on my truck were it shuts down into V4.

I haven't had any problems with mine and it runs great in my Sierra 5.3 with the 87 octane tune and would think the 6L would be even better of an improvement. It's new years day along with being a Saturday and no one at Diablo Sport will be in until Tuesday because of the holiday weekend. I would wait until you can talk to someone on Tuesday before making your final decision. Is the unit itself damaged or is it the 30 pin connector on the OBD 2 cable?

Its the 30pin connector on the unit i could tell as soon as i took it out of the box that it wasnt installed in the device properly and when plugged into the truck it doesnt do anything. Im not trying to talk down to the company or degrade them i just want to know if i was just a freak accident that i got one like this and is it really worth putting there programmer on my truck. I did have the Edge CTS on my truck and couldnt really tell a change at all.

Are the set screws on the bottom of the tuner snug? Is the plug just not going in far enough to connect to the inTune to give it power?

I have the AFM function turned off on mine and it is a lot nicer to drive. No hesitation when slowing down and then excelerating. I am not sure if you have the option though, but this is a replacement for the Predator so if it was an option on that for you I would think it would on the inTune.

When i plug the tuner in even with the door open it should kick on correct. Also i noticed when i got it one of the gold pins at the bottom of the unit was messed up its actually the farthest on the left when looking at the unit from the front.

If you have bent pins I would send it back. And it should power up once it's plugged into the OBD2 whether the key is on or off. I need to go to best buy and pick up a case to put it in to protect it and it's screen.

Well that would explain why when its plugged into the truck then it doesnt do anything. I looked at it more closely today and there is more than just one pin that is messed up. Ill send it back tuesday and get a replacement cause im anxious to get this put on my truck.

Nice, I think if you have the money the trinity is the way to go and they do have he TCM support that everyone is waiting for on the inTune. I would have ponied up the extra cash for it but really don't think I would have used it to its full potential.

I got really luckiy on the cost though only 500 cause a buddy that im stationed with up here in alaska got it for xmas from his wife. Well it was going to be for a diesel project but he couldnt get the truck running so i guess i made out. Brand New and paid 100 less than retail. Also though im not sure if i have the most updated version on it. When it was programming 87octane it said backing up my factory pcm and tcm but when programming only said pcm.

So then return the truck to stock and update it to the latest version. Not the latest, latest version though, the previous latest version. The latest, latest version is having problems on some of the trucks.

We apologize for any issues you had from the tool right out of the box, but I can assure you that this is not common practice of our company. Our office was closed for the holidays. In this situation, I would recommend contacting the company you purchased it from to get yourself an exchange unit. All of our tools are built here in Boca Raton FL. and are quality checked before they are sold. The only section of the tool that is not made of lightweight steel is the face around the screen.
