sick CTS-V

Post by mikel »

This car is owned by a local customer of ours. We did a bunch of R&D on his car during the development of our CTS-V tunes, and he ran a best of 11.5x @ 121 with the canned 93 octane pulley tune, and a lower pulley and CAI combo.

He recently went through a second round of mods, including a KDI Track Sweeper cam, AR catback, and upper pulley, and after a custom CMR tune, it laid down just shy of 600 rwhp, and 620 ft/lbs.

The car went straight to the track, for some fun stuff....
His brother happens to own a GTR, that is tuned, and runs 10.7's.
He lined up with his brother for his last run of the night, following a long cool down and a string of 11.0 passes.
When the tree dropped, the V killed the GTR out of the hole and proceeded to run a 10.75@127 in a winning effort against the GTR which went 10.8x , also at 127 ;)

Marsad, the owner of the car, has a much better write up here:

And since there was a Bugatti Veyron (yes, a $1.5 Million car, making passes on the dragstrip, using the launch control and everything!) somehow thrown in the mix with the GTR, Motor Trend got wind of it and they have the races covered here:

Yep, I've been following that for weeks now. On MT I asked him about the ID850s. They're twice the price of the Deatschwerks 65s, but if Johan has them as well tuned as Marsad says, then they may be worth the cost.

Yeah, they were pretty simple to drop in.
Johan had the car running on an email tune for a week or so before it got in his hands, and it wasn't that far off...the ID stuff is well worth the money.

If you have ever seen a car with their 200# injectors in it, idling at 800 rpm, you'd be amazed. I even have a few guys running the ID2000's in SRT4s with no problem ;)
