2008 sierra tuning questions

Post by Jarodpurvis »

I resently purchased a trinity. I have a 2008 gmc Sierra 5.3 with a air raid cold air intake and a catback exhaust. I was doing some reading up on how to tune ur vehicle and I got a couple questions.. I'm trying to get my LTFT set up and on the highway bank 1 was 4.69 and bank 2 was 3.89??(I think). I read that you want 1-2 banks at -2-0 so I dropped it down 5 points and seems ok.. Is that correct?? And I was wondering How to adjust the Power enrichment and what should it be at? And what gauge do I gotta look at?. The truck seems to hesitates and seems like it kinda misses when I start moving for a complete stop. Then around 2500-3000RPM it seems fine.. What could be the issue there?

all depends on what the intake air temp was during your data log... if it's colder temps now where you are, then your fuel trims should be a little on the positive side, so that when the normal warm/hot summer weather is in your area, THAT'S when you want the fuel trims to be around 0 to -2...

as for the PE, generally you can adjust that to half of what you adjusted the slope to... so if you adjusted the slope to -4%, then you can adjust the PE to -2% in all rpm ranges.....

Ok thanks a lot. Do You have any idea why it would be spuddering at idle? I noticed it only does it when it is drive with my foot on the brake at a stand still. Seems like it can't hold a steady idle.. It will be at 650rpm then drop to 520rpm then back up. And when I start to drive off it seems like its missing or spuddering or something till about 2000-2500rpm and goes away and drives fine. Have any idea what would be causing that. It even did it in the 87 tune that came with the trinity

Would adjusting the timing help?
