My Intune locks up when I go to write vehicle .I have a 2005 Dodge ram with a 5.7 Hemi. Plug it into the computer and it says its up to date. Just bought this thing and not very impressed with it yet.

I'm having the same trouble. I know the intune recognizes the car because once instead of trying to write a tune i went into settings and checked the vehicle info and it showed everything,including the VIN and CALid. The intune is up to date as well.
OH by the way don't let the name fool ya i had a 2008 mustang when i first joined but now i have a brand new 2012 Camaro SS.

Same exact problem!!!! Really frustrating

so, when does it lock up exactly?

can you guys post up your VIN, and a procedure for how you get it to lock up, so we can check it out?

My VIN is 2G1FK1EJ9C9143236, I plug into the OBdII port it boots up, I get the page with the choice; tune vehicle,scan tool and, settings. I select tune vehicle, it sats to turn key on, as soon as I do that it locks up. I have also waited to see if it would time out at that point but a few seconds later it locked up. When it locks up the screen goes blank with only the banner at the top and the touch pad doesn't work the only way out of it is to unplug it.
I did have some touble getting it to interface with my computor but I got thru that after acouple of trys.

how about if you turn the key on first, before you select Tune vehicle?

i.e. connect intune to car... let it boot up and get to the main menu... then turn your key on... then select tune vehicle...

does it work that way?


also, any aftermarket electronics installed in the car? if so, they need to be disabled/fuse pulled...

No that didn't work I don't have any aftermarket electronics also I turn the radio off with the doors shut and the interior light off.

I have to amend my earlier post I get thru the first menu page accept the disclaimer then the next page is write tune then it asks to turn key on and then it freezes.

Exactly how it behaves in my Jeep. I have the "write vehicle" and "restore vehicle" options. Select either one and the menu buttons go away, the "I'm busy" swirling indicator moves about 1/4 turn, and then the system is unresponsive. Ive tried every variation of key on, key off, plug first, key first, etc. and it doesn't matter. I let it sit for half an hour last night and it never came back.

Please give us a call with the tool in the vehicle and we'll see whats going on there.

Called the guys at Diablo and they walked me through how to reset my ituner and it works fine now other than I have oversized tires on my truck and I can't adjust that in the settings.

we'll get the tire size fixed asap.

Is there some sort of guide for this procedure? It's going to be extremely difficult to be with my vehicle during normal business hours so that I can call.

They have to give you a new code to reset the intune. Only reason Iwas able to get it done is was a sick day

you guys are lucky!! I'm in the UK with mine freezing and not writing my tune or back up and spent over 4 hours on the phone from UK to USA through last night and mine still isn't working!! Got to be the most expensive intune in history!!!!
