2003 SRT4/PT Turbo Questions

Post by TripleJackInGA »

I have a 2003 PT Turbo/5-Speed I just picked up with 45k miles. The car is bone stock for now.
I'm starting to contemplate which way to go:
- Mopar Stage 1 PCM & 577 Injectors
- Diablosport Predator
- Diablosport InTune

As you probably know, the 2003 SRT4/PT Turbo had smaller injectors. I believe they were 527cc, and the 2004+ were 577cc.
If you use a Mopar Performance Stage 1 PCM on a 2003 vehicle, you must also change the injectors to the 2004+ version.
It is a known fact that running the stock (Stage 0) PCM in a 2003 vehicle, along with the 2004+ injectors will make the car run pig rich.

So I like the flexibility of the Predator/InTune, but here's my questions:

- The HP/TQ claims for the InTune on the 2003-2006 SRT4/PT Turbo are 30/40. Was this on a bone stock vehicle, and if so, what year? If it was a 2004-2006, we must assume that the same gains on a 2003 would require an injector change, correct?
- Must a 2003 SRT4/PT Turbo have the 2004+ injectors to use the Predator/InTune at all, or only for specific tunes? My guess is yes.
- If I am required to change the injectors on my 2003 SRT4/PT Turbo to use the InTune effectively, and I am using a stock (Stage 0) PCM, then for whatever reason I have a need to revert the PCM back to the stock tune, won't this cause the vehicle to run pig rich, unless I swap the smaller stock injectors back in?
- Is the best solution here to run a complete 2003 Stage 1 Mopar PCM/Injectors *and* an Intune? If so, are there canned tunes for this combo, or would it have to be a custom tune?

Yes, gains are on a stock car. Any year.

No, you will need a custom tune if you change injectors.

No, the tunes are designed for stock injectors.

No, a stock PCM, injector swap, and custom tune is all you need.
Anything the S1 does can be done, better, in a custom tune.
