Just wondering, because the way it cuts power after the wheels lose traction, for like 3-4 seconds, would make it impossible to rock the car to get it unstuck from snow. Any way we can trim that back to like a 1-2 second power reduction, or even less?
Even in good weather the stock time is too long. Want to accelerate in a hurry? Mash the gas, tranny downshifts, tires break loose, Stabilitrak cuts power and you ain't going nowhere. Good way to get slammed into.
You're running in warm weather, so the tires probably aren't breaking loose on downshifts. Its cold here, the summer tires don't stick and with the Stabilitrak off, they'll happily spin for half a block after a full throttle downshift.
I've had the exact same problem with the Stabilitrak on my 2006 Yukon. Infact, I've neared death about 3 times when I was waiting to turn left, saw a hole in traffic, pulled out, then suddenly the Stabilitrak kicks in and kills power - just as I'm now in the middle of crossing the opposing traffic lane with oncoming traffic.
I got my trinity this week and just the basic 87-octane tune actually seems to have subdued this problem quite a bit.

I don't know what you're driving but, in my 2010 Colorado, you hold the button with the car sliding until the traction control and stability control off starts flashing on the dash. Hit the speedo reset twice to turn off the warnings. Or you can drive around in 4WD low range where both are automatically disabled.
In the CTS-V its not like that. One press puts it in Competition Mode (Stabilitrak on, traction control off), two turns everything off. With close to 600hp, you don't EVER drive with everything off unless you're on a track. You're always just a throttle prod away from seeing where you've been and not where you're going.
Can I log the gear the tranny is in so you can see whats happening when it breaks loose? Its closing the throttle, regardless of pedal position, but you'd never find it in the log without seeing it kickdown.
I dont' think there's any tcm logging available... it was asked somewhere in another thread, and mike said can only log the ecm or the tcm, and the ecm wins... heh...
I know I can't log any tcm/tranny stuff with mine....
Well, then this is the best log I can do at this time. Its just a leisurely drive, home from the store, with a few blips. This is with the tranny in Sport Mode. It cuts in much less aggressively. This is a long log, with a lot of just sitting at lights, so I'll just point out some anomalies. Check out about 29.5 seconds. Pedal is down, throttle ain't opening though. Again at 4:07.75, 5:52, 11:25-11.29 is a doozy, and 12:53.25 is the worst one on this log.
I'll get one in regular Drive this weekend, and I'm sure there are some other PIDs I should be logging, like spark, and possibly speed. I really want gear, but if its not possible then I guess I'm SOL.
Its lagging horribly at other times too. Like trying to accelerate through turns, pedal down, throttle not opening. Any chance of getting throttle boost for the V?
That stabilitrack has to go! Once my truck starts to go sideways game over, power loss until it straightens out. There must me something to disable it.When your in 4 LO both shut off. Please say that it mite be in the works, this would be sweet!!

OK,went out to my truck to try something with the traction control.I turned the traction control off and held the button in for 5-10 extra seconds and it turned off my stabilitrack, nice! Why didn't do this sooner.

I can turn it off, but I wouldn't want it off normally. On the downshifts where it intervenes the car would fishtail like crazy. I want to keep it on, but be more forgiving.
