09 Silverado - data logging no equivalence ratio

Hi. I'm trying to data log my 09 Silverado 5.3. I'm working on getting the cruise ltft dialed in and wot power enrichment. I've been using dslogredux. it will not give me a read out on the power enrichment because it says my data logs don't include the afr equivalence ratio. How do I log it? I got my fuel trims to stay at 0 so what's a good way to adjust the power enrichments? I'm running the diablo tune.

you need to find/locate the Air Fuel Ratio / Equivalence Ratio parameters and select them to log 'em...

and you don't want your ltft's to be at 0 if you have cool/cold weather where you are right now... you want them to be a little positive, so that when the normal warm/hot summer weather is in your area, THATS when you want your average ltft's to be about -1.xxx to -2.xxxx....

so if you're at 0 now and it's 30* out, you're going to be running very very rich when it warms up, because your fuel trims will go down as the intake air temps go up...

you need to take into account the intake air temp when making your adjustments... dslogredux doesn't....

Lew, is there any reason that I would not want to adjust the LTFT's to around -1 now when it is cold out, and then adjust accordingly as the weather changes? Or am I better off adjusting the LTFT's when it is warm out and then leaving it at that setting all year?

because there is no need to keep changing it... I haven't changed mine in 5.5 years... the MAF sensor does its job by adjusting it as needed... you want the average fuel trims to be about -1.xxx to -2.xxx during the normal warm/hot summer weather for your area... once you get thing adjusted to that, then that's it.. leave it alone... when it gets cooler/colder out, the fuel trims will be more positive, which is fine... no need to adjust....

plus, whenever you make an adjustment and reflash a tune to the vehicle, you need to put on about 100 miles over a few days of normal driving, so that the fuel trims get relearned by the ecm and settle in, and THEN you can do a new data log...

and when data logging, you need to make sure you log the intake air temp parameter, so that you can take that info into account when making your adjustment...

if you want, if you've gotten 100+ miles put on the vehicle since your last adjustment/flash, post up a new steady driving data log (with rpms between 1800-2000), and I'll take a quick look at it...

also, there is much more that can be done for adjustments, and more precisely, in a custom tune... so let me know if you'd be interested in a custom tune as well... I can hook you up... ;)

I would love to have a custom tune but I want to wait until there's transmission support. I am very disappointed that this intune doesn't have tcm support. Alot of features say not supported yet.

Waiting to get a custom tune for TCM support won't help you out. Lew leaves TCM tuning up to the end user. I'm sure he will help guide us through adjusting it though....... If it becomes available.

Lew, here is a log that I did this morning. The trim is currently adjusted to +1 on the Diablo Tune running 93 octane. I really appreciate you taking a look at this for me. As far as the custom tune, I have done a lot of reading about your custom tunes and fully plan on getting on sometime this summer, maybe sooner.

This is a log with the diablo tune running premium. No adjustments.

I can make adjustments to it, but I generally let the user adjust the tranny parameters because everyone likes something different... some like it to shift firmer, some don't, some like shift points set one way, some like it another way, etc etc...

so once the tcm/tranny support is available, you'll be able to adjust all of that yourself via the tool and play around with it to get it how you like it...

based on the average ltft's and the intake air temp, I would go -1% on the slope adjustment...

go -3% on slope adjustment and you're good to go...

have any recommendation on power enrichment or timing settings. Also I am interested in a custom tune. So id be fine with a tune even without tcm support?

don't change the timing at all...

for PE, you could go -1% or -2%, but if you're going to get a custom tune done for it, then I'd be changing it all anyway, haha...

Lew, didn't say you couldn't! Just that you leave it up to us.............. that's if we actually had TCM support, maybe by the end of the year or maybe the end of next year......

You will be fine with a custom tune without TCM support since it isn't affected by the engine tune. Just set up the TCM the way you want it when it becomes available.

If that's the case I'm considering returning this thing.
