Predator setting 93 octane

Post by 06GTMIR »

06 Mustang GT ST149 Software UPDATE. I just downloaded 87 octane programming and added steeda cold air intake big differerence. Was told at a recent car show I should bump it up to 93 octane and mess with the global timing. Not sure what affect this would have only mods I have is the cold air / and borla axle back exhaust. Also considering headers and x pipe with free flowing cats exhaust system. Looking for some advise on both. If any exhaust brand/system seems to be the smarter investment. Thanks.

The tool has 93 octane tunes in it, they should be listed above the 87 octane tune in the Predator s menu.
Any of the popularexhaust systems seem to work about the same.

Thanks

I listened to several different systems until I finally settled on the JBA Evol axle backs. They sound killer at any rpm. I have a similiar setup to yours: Airaid CAI, JBA's, Steeda UDP's and of course the Predator tune. I do use the 93 octane tune that Diablo made for my Airaid system, and I can definitely tell the difference between the 87 and 93 tunes. One word of advice though, run a couple of tankfuls of 93 through it before you add the tune. This may eliminate any lean condition from any residual 87 fuel once you throw the 93 tune in it. Don't be afraid to call these guys, either... they are very accessable and the best in the business.
