Received new Predator U7134 with 8r14 release installed. Under Diagnostics, there is only view and clear trouble codes - no data logging, real time streaming, etc. I have had Predators before for other vehicles and there always was this option, plus the manual shows it exists

Do I have a defective Predator or do I need some kind of update, OR is it not available yet ? I have a 2007 Grand Cherokee SRT8

Mike, should we see the data logging menu out of the box? If not, Is there another release we should download and install? I'd really like to take some data

Dataloging through the tuner only will be available in a future release. Right now to do any datalogging you need to actually have a laptop hooked up and running the Dataviewer while the car is running.

I also have this problem, is ther a process to get this started?

tonight while upgrading to the new 16 tune, sitting in my car, pred plugged in, latptop attached... no matter what I did there was no data logging options at all availible. I only had the view and clear codes options.

what gives?

to datalog you need to hook up your predator to your car then your laptop to your predator and run the dataviewer software

As I said I dont even have the option on my predator. as I said above, I did exactly that. and I tried to run the dataviewer but there is not a monitoring option in the diagnostic section.

hence, what he said, and the docs hes referring to wont help, i havnt got there yet.

yes......... regardless of it being hooked up to the laptop, or not. plugging in before or after its hooked to the obdi port or not. dataviewer software running or not. the hand held unit still does not have the option to monitor anything other than read codes.

and yes, it was communicating with the "tool", as I said, I uploaded the new rev 16 tune before this.

no matter what I do, I cant see these options on the tool.

I only care because I will be at the track sunday and want to run the 93 tune with 92 oct and make sure im not getting kr before I switch. Is there really much of a difference between the 91 and 93 tunes?

When you run the DataViewer it is taking control of the Predator. It has nothing to do with the options on the Predator menu. Run the DataViewer on your laptop and follow the instructions in the DataViewer help system.

ah ok, was under the impression you just used this to view the datafile. ill have to monkey around with it more.

If you are serious about tuning, the DataViewer combined with the Predator is a better tool than just the Predator by itself. Let me know if you get it working. The on-screen instructions and the help system are pretty good IMO.

was gone for the weekend (went racing, sadly only got a 14.00, I always spin off the line), got it working just fine with the dataviewer. getting 4.5 kr with the 93 tune (only in upper 10% of RPMs) and none with the 91. is the 93 "more aggressive enough" to make up for the KR?

I just saw the new rev 17 is out, ill have to play with that some too.
