I ordered a USB cable, and it was shipped UPS to Canada. UPS wants $50.00 for brokerage fees. This would make the cable cost to me $124.94!

You gotta let the distributor you got it from know to ship USPS/Canada Post. Why didn't you buy it from a Canadian company? I know DiabloSport has Canadian distributors.

I buy just about all of my cables from newegg.com. What you want is a USB (male) to a serial cable. The serial end will be called either a DB9 (male) or an RS-232 (male). Different names for the same VERY old style serial port. I haven't seen one come with a motherboard in quite a few years. The capability is still in all motherboards in the BIOS but everyone just turns it and the parallel port off to free up the interrupts for other uses. There has to be someone in Canada who carries the cable. There isn't much demand for it except for special circumstances. I don't know the exact prices but I can assure you it won't even be close to $125.

98xc800 it sounds like you ordered the item from our website. When ordering on our site, the order is processed by a third party company called Shopatron which assesses all shipping fees automatically. Items that are purchased through the site may be filled by DiabloSport's distribution network or us depending on your geographic location.
Unfortunately, DiabloSport has no control over UPS Duties/Fees nor the shipping cost assessed by Shopatron.

Ups tried to deliver a free fanbruary kit today, but wanted $240 for shipping charges. They must be pretty expensive hats and stickers. lol. So much for a free gift.

I could understand a brokerage fee but these were suppose to be free kits delivered to my door. I am in Canada and have dealt with UPS many times, but really 240 for shipping a free kit. They should have sent e-mail stating that this was going to happen rather than send it, knowing that no-one in their right mind would accept this.

Chri_Mar, the fee from UPS is on their end, we did not charge any shipping and in fact already paid for the shipping when it went out. I'm confused as to where they get that $240 number when the declared value on the package should have been zero. I think in the future we should use good old USPS for these.

I re-recieved the free kit today with no charges this time, thank-you Diablosport. After seeing this kit makes me wonder even more about why this was charged so much the first time. Box only weighs about a pound. Any ways thanks again.
