error message.
Ok ive tried everything that mike has told me to do and i still can not get my tunner to do the upload! I have tried this and 4 different computers now and taken firewalls down and done everything i can think of to get it to work and yet nothing!
The error message is
"An error occured while trying to retrieve data from the server. Are you connected to the internet."
Im getting tired of the run around, i just want it to work or im sending it back

RE: error message.
This has worked for 100s of users so far.
I would guess that there is an issue with the server you are using.
Have you tried a different server, like using a PC at a neighbors house?
Thanks

RE: error message.
Hi Mike. I am getting the same error message as above and obviously I cannot do anything until the calibration update is sorted.
Being in Melbourne Australia wouldn't affect this....would it?

RE: Re: RE: error message.
This is exactly what I have been able to accomplish so far.
I connected the tuner to my car for the 1st time and followed the instructions exactly as they were in the downloaded manual. As I progressed I was told that I needed an update as per this site before I could progress to loading any tune into my vegilce.
Not a worry. So I hook up the unit pass the connection test and all is good till this point. I am then directed to the Calibration Update page where the is a button to press named Calibration Updater.
When I press this button a new screen opens with a green progress bar that shows me what is being downloaded. Problem though, an error message comes straight up saying 'An error occured while trying to retrieve data from server. Are you connected to internet'. Yes I am (see this post...
)
So this is where I am stuck and cannot use the tuner. I have had a good look and read through all instructions and can't see what else I may or may not be doing. Hope that explains exactly what I have done.

RE: Re: RE: error message.
Is it possible you have a firewall running that is blocking DSDL from accessing the net?
We had one PC here that came from a large accounting firm that had a firewall on it that was blocking DSDL but IE, Firefox, E-mail, everything else worked fine.
Some firewalls like Zone Alarm will announce when a program is trying to access the net and ask you if it's OK.
Some don't and you have to manually allow it.

RE: Re: RE: error message.
No. I have now eliminated that possiblilty, to the extent of removing all firewall and AV software from one of our laptops. I also directly connected tp the internet via the modem after removing the router directly. It is either something in your server not allowing me in or a problem with the hand held. Please advise.

This is definitely an issue guys. 2 more here in Australia also have the same issues. Please advise whether it is your server not allowing us to update, or if it is actually the hand held itself.
