Fuel Gauge Error after tune

Post by OpticTygre »

Using diablo i-1000 to tune a 2005 Mustang GT from factory to 91 Octane tune. Followed all on-screen instructions. After the tune, the fuel gauge pointed to around the 3'oclock position (above completely full).

Changed tune back to factory default, and fuel gauge remained in same location. Ran the tune for the 91 octane again, and the fuel gauge now points in the 6'oclock position.

Am I doing something incorrect? How can I fix this issue?

Can't say I have ever seen that.

try disconnecting the battery for a few seconds (both cables) then reconnnect and see if the gauge is back to normal?

Unhooking the battery did not reset the fuel gauge.

Incidentally, the digital readouts are fine. It's just the gauge that got messed up. The gauge will eventually fix itself between driving and using gas, and multiple ignition starts - when you first start the iginition, the gauge pointer "dips" a bit lower before it starts to rise. Because of this, the gauge is nearly back to normal. A few more start-ups, and it should be fine.
