Tuner Sez "Application missing or corrupt"

Can't access tuner (U7170) to re-insert 7r19. Laptop recognizes tuner and attempts to load the file but just keeps going thru
"retry1, retry2, retry3" etc.

Whats my solution please??

Check to be sure you have the baud rates all set to 115200 in the device manager and the DSDL.

Baud rates have been at 115200 from day one. DSDL sez power up tool. When you do, logo appears, then sez "application missing/corrupt" and "continue" appears in LH bottom of tools screen. (pressing center button on tool has no effect). DSDL then asks which CROM file, and proceeds to loading, stops at packet 2, and goes into its retry1, retry2 trick with tool all the time displaying the "missing/corrupt" message.

John, these inst cleared up the msg, "missing/corrupt" on the tool. It'll go to "installing boot loader" now. Thanks very much.

But after clicking on either CROM ford_7_3-7r19dZ or ford_7_3_128k-8r01 to load, the tool then sez "cannot install ford _7_3*** application into ford_7_3_128k tool" on either file.

When I click on CROM file "u7170_pstroke73-8r05", I get the msg "Cannot load pstroke 73*****".

I think we're getting close!!

You cannot use the 8r05 tool on anything but new release tools.
You need to use the 7r19_128K.crom file which I am emailing you now.

Guys, after using Mikes 7r19_128K file, everything is back working now.

I want to thank you very much for your patience in working with me AND in such a rapid fashion. You can't imagine how that helps when you're out on the road a long way from home.

Now if you can just get rid of the tranny going to neutral when you touch the brakes, it'll be great. Stock sure does'nt do that. Scary goiing down a grade with 15k pushing you along and it goes to neutral when you brake.

Anyway, when its time for personnel evals, tell your Supe to send them to me!!!!
