prolific driver for my serial to usb adpt

I have tried at least a dozen times to down load the prolific driver for windows 7 from the diablo down loads. The driver will install but will not work. Any ideas what might be causing the problem. The DS Down loader is not finding the predator.

Yes I am. After downloading and installing the driver I checked to see if the driver was working in the devices and it said it was. When I plug in the predator and open DS down loader it just keeps searching but will not find the predator. Also down in the tool bar windows is telling me that it is installing the driver for my hardware and then says it did not get installed correctly. I had this problem on my XP based computer and after seems like 50 tries it finally worked (the driver). The Predator is not being found because the serial to usb adapter driver is not working. I down loaded the driver from the deablo down load site. Sorry for being so long winded. Thanks

I could never get the prolific driver to work or any other driver to work with the cable that came with the interface kit, bought radio shack cable and boom worked like a champ.

You may need to run in XP Compatibility Mode with this one.

Right click on the DSDL icon, go to Properties, then Compatibility, Check Run this program in Compatibility Mode for, Change the box to Windows XP Service Pack 3. Check Run this program as an Administrator, then OK.

I did that and still not working. I have the prolific adapter maybe it's just a pice of crap thats not going to work. Is ther another serial to usb adpter I can buy that is better.
