I did a search before asking this, but...
Can the Intune be plugged in and left in?
I would like to run the OBD cable through my dash to tuck it away, but can I leave the handheld unit plugged in and will it go to sleep?
It seems to only power down when its unplugged and I do not want to have to plug it in every time I drive my vehicle. I'm not conecerned to much about theft of the device either. Thanks....

it will be on all the time... no "sleep mode"... it's not meant to be left plugged in all the time...

I have left mine plugged in for a little while and that thing gets hot. I don't think I would want to leave it plugged for extended periods of time.

I've left one powered up for days....

So basically flash the vehicle and put it away...
There should be some type of sleep mode or an on off switch....

Thats what the inTune is for. Its the Predator replacement. Its for tuning and logging. If you wanted a monitor, the Trinity would have been the unit to get.

Yes, but the Intune has a logging option also that I use for monitoring...

Mine was plugged in for 15 min and it felt like it was on fire. Now way there was one left pluged in for days, it would definately burn up.

I have indeed left the tool plugged in, for days on end, with no issues....

I have literally left mine plugged into the computer for weeks, no joke. But that's what us Marketing guys do, we leave stuff plugged in to see if anything bad happens. Picking up my unit as we speak, that has been plugged in for a minimum of say 10 days, it does feel warm but not hot. Definitely no hotter then my android which has been on the charge for a few hours.
But this was all done through USB and not OBD2, could be different.

We'll after 2 days of leaving it plugged in, I won't do it again....
I'm guessing due to the nature of the computer system in my 2007 Dodge Ram, leaving the iNtune plugged in to the OBD port keeps some modules "Awake" on the Can bus system. This in turn killed my trucks battery in 2 days! Late model Chrysler products are typically recommended to be put on a car charger when doing a computer update or scan of any kind using the latest diag equipment due to the modules on the CAN bus being awake. These modules being awake is enough to drain the vehicles battery in hours.
So long story short for anyone with a CAN bus Chrysler product, Do Not leave the Intune plugged in for any extended periods of time without the vehicle running!

yeah, I might have guessed at that, I thought we were discussing leaving it plugged into USB.

Nope, I apoligise for not specifying...I was reffering to leaving it in the OBD port...
