I received my Trinity T1000 last week that I ordered from Lew. I am using it in a 2008 Corvette Base Coupe with A6 trans.

At first, the Trinity gave me "unable to write to TCM" error. This was apparently because the Trinity version was v.1r08i. Lew advised to update it to v.1r08k. I performed the update and reinstalled the 91 Octane, automatic with "Firm Shift" options. The Trinity wrote to the vehicle PCM and TCM. I took the car out for a short test spin but didn't notice any change in shifting gears from before and the Version still reads "v1r08i".

Because the version did not change and I did not notice any shifting changes, I went ahead and restored my backup file and connected the Trinity to my PC and ran the DSDownloader and "Update Tool" just to be sure - thinking it really did not update to v.1r08k. It opened a window looking for a .crom file on my hard drive. So, I thought it actually did update to v.1r08k since the Trinity did not perform the automatic update. Then I did a reinstall of the 91 Octane, automatic with "Firm Shift" options was fine and I can see the PCM and TCM details in the "OPTIONS" last tune screen.

I always use the paddle shifter so I don't know if this has anything to do with not feeling a shifting change

So, I have a few questions:

1- Shouldn't the version have changed to v1r08i in the Trinity information screen? or am I still actually running v1r08i even though it wrote to the PCM and TCM?

2- Are the changes to the PCM and TCM effective at next startup or is there a "learning" period?

3- When should I be able to run the log files needed to send to Lew for the custom tune? Would the log files represent changes now or do I need to run a some miles?

Sorry for the "book" but I wanted to make sure I covered everything.

after you installed the new update to the trinity, did you go back through it and select your vehicle again? that will make it "apply" the new update and then it should be on 1r08k...

and with you being in M or Sport mode and using the paddle shifters, yeah you probably won't feel the changes... the changes are made to the regular shifting settings... keep it in normal mode, put it in D and drive, see if you notice a difference then...

after you last flashed the tune to the car, you need to put on about 100 miles so the fuel trims get relearned by the ecm and settle in, then you can do the steady driving log on the highway, keeping your rpms between 1800-2200 as much as you can...

Thanks for the info Lew -- I'll double check the vehicle selection. I may have missed that. I know I got the 91 octane automatic firm shifting right LOL

- I'll try the "D" mode. It makes sense that "sport" mode won't reflect the shifting.

I'll follow your mileage and rpm directions and get some logs for you then.
