shift points, shift firmness...adjustable?

Post by rickrad »

Can shift points or firmness be adjusted on Jeep SRT8 and if so can it be done with the Intune?

IF you have a Mopar TCM you can raise the shift points, but there is no firmness or point settings for the standard TCM.

Thanks

So if I replace the stock unit with the Mopar Performance TCM, will that automatically change the shift points/firmness from the stock one? and I can still adjust those parameters using the Intune? thanks.

No, to be honest, you need to do a bunch of homework on this before you start messing with it.
Johan has covered the procedure in detail on the cherokee srt8 forum.

Yeah, you need access to an LX SRT8 to change the gear ratio and all sorts of other stuff. Its a real chore. Thats why I never bothered.

Thanks guys...yeah i did some reading on it. sounds like its far from a straightforward mod. I am more interested in firmer more agressive shifts than raising shift points. Prob better to go all out and replace the valve body than mess with the TCM.

Throw a Paramount stage II valve body in there, you'll dig it for sure. Mine made a big difference.
