200 hp tune trouble.

Hello, Im having a pretty odd problem with the RKL tunes. I first tried the rkl Extreme tune, truck seems to have more power but at about 1,500 rpm the engine makes this awful rattling noise almost sounds like its going to blow and doesn't stop intell about 2,400 rmp. Its also seem to lope a little at idel. plus at about 40 mph the truck started shaking really bad and losses all power almost like its not getting fuel . Plulled over tired loading the RKL puff tune, the awful rattle was still there but it didnt do that odd think at 40 mph . So I was thinking maybe its timing rattle so I load the RKL puff tune w/ no timing added. doesn't rattle as bad but its still there, and it also did that wired thing started shaking and loss power for about 5 sec let off the throttle and its fine.
The only tune I didnt try was the Extreme puff tune but with the way its acting im afraid to try.

The truck is a 03 HO dodge cummins. I don't think im running out of fuel cause I have an air dog 165, en less the RKL tune is draining the rail and the injector pump cant keep up? Also Im now running the Extreme 160hp tune that came on the tuner and the truck runs fine. No rattle no loss of power and no shaking. also the shaking and no power is at times is random sometimes it does it sometime it doesn't and no CEL comes on. Im at a loss so hopefully someone can help out. Also sorry for the long post.

how many miles?

sounds like the truck is simply not happy at that power level...

The truck has 216,348 miles on it. I also forgot to mention that I tried the rkl tunes about a year ago, still had the bad rattle but it didn't loose power and start shaking . that was before I got my airdog, after I got the airdog on the truck I went to load the rkl tunes and they were no longer in the predator. I thoght that was odd I had to reload them in from Ds downloader. Could the predator be messed up?

no...really sounds like the truck does not want to play along...could be the new pump, or a different issue.

The pump seems to work fine, with the 160hp tune I can do wot all daylong and its fine. and after I put the pump on the truck has more power and seems to run better. Is it possible that maybe the tune is corrupted ?

Are right somethings not right here. Just today I thought I would try the Extreme puff tune, load up the predator and the custom tunes are gone again. I allready have the Extreme 160 tune loaded in the truck. but no matter what I do it will not show me the custom tune list.

Well after reading on diesel forums on the net I thought maybe my pressure relief valve was bad, checked it out and it seems to be fine. The only other thing I can think of is maybe my injectors are worn out. But I finally got tired of all this crap order a smarty tuner loaded it up and the truck runs fine in fact it runs better with the smarty then it did with the predator. I even loaded the level 9 tune 210 hp tune truck runs like a jet engine. So I guess it wasn't my truck after all. Plus there is no awful injector rattle or timing timing rattle even on the 210 tune .

I am having the same issues with RKL tunes... Not sure what's going on
